I picked up my first 35mm camera in my twenties, and have rarely been without one since. As an artist, I am always looking for those perspectives and views of our world that go unnoticed by most, capturing the hidden beauty found in the everyday moment, the odd angle found when you tilt your head just so. I am fascinated by the myriad ways the camera can weave light, shadow and time into images of our world that we can only begin to imagine. The darkroom has found a new home inside my computer, where the dance still continues; sometimes literally. Painting images with light — where the entire world becomes my canvas — has opened up vast new realms of expression for me. I want my images to leap out of the frame: not to remind the viewer of those things missed, but to help us see and appreciate once again the beauty we knew was there all along.
